Terms of Service

1. The service

Mini Scanner lets you scan paper documents with the camera, crop and enhance pages, organize files, and export PDF, JPEG, Word or Excel. With an active Mini Scanner PRO subscription you may also use premium tools such as OCR/text extraction, searchable PDF, PDF password lock, ID sheet layout, long image, compress, backup ZIP helpers and smart tools (area, count, math), as offered in the app. Word, Excel and High quality export are included for free.

2. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Mini Scanner on Apple devices you own or control, in line with the App Store Terms of Use. You may not reverse engineer, rent, resell or misuse the app except as allowed by law.

3. Your content

You retain all rights to documents and images you create. Files stay on your device unless you export or share them. You are responsible for lawful use of the camera and for any content you scan or share. Do not use Mini Scanner for illegal activity.

4. Accounts and security

Mini Scanner does not require a CodeRest account. Optional app lock (PIN) is a local convenience feature; it is not a substitute for full-disk encryption or secure archival of critical records. Keep backups of important documents outside the app.

5. Subscriptions and payments

• PRO is offered as auto-renewing subscriptions (Weekly, Monthly, Yearly) through Apple In-App Purchase.
• Prices are shown in the app and charged to your Apple ID.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• After purchase, manage or cancel in Settings › Apple ID › Subscriptions.
• Unused portions of a free trial (if Apple ever offers one for a product) are forfeited when you purchase, as described by Apple.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under their policies.

6. PRO features

PRO features require a valid entitlement. If a subscription lapses, premium tools may lock again while free features continue. Feature availability may vary by region or App Store configuration.

7. Acceptable use

Do not attempt to interfere with StoreKit, crack PRO, overload device resources maliciously, or infringe others’ intellectual property with exports you create.

8. Third-party services

Sharing, printing, cloud drives and mail use Apple or third-party apps you choose. Their terms and privacy policies apply once content leaves Mini Scanner.

9. Intellectual property

The Mini Scanner name, logos, UI and code are owned by CodeRest or its licensors. These Terms do not transfer ownership to you.

10. Disclaimer

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. Scanning quality depends on lighting, camera hardware and user technique. Do not rely on Mini Scanner as the only copy of passports, contracts, medical or financial records.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CODEREST AND ITS SUPPLIERS ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS OR BUSINESS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE APP IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR PRO THROUGH APPLE IN THE THREE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (OR ZERO IF YOU ONLY USED THE FREE TIER).

12. Consumer rights

Nothing in these Terms limits rights you may have under mandatory consumer law in your country of residence that cannot be waived by contract.

13. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time. We may stop offering the app or change features. Provisions that should survive (including ownership, disclaimers and liability limits) remain in effect.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

15. Governing law

Subject to mandatory local law, these Terms are governed by the laws applicable to CodeRest’s place of establishment, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes may also be subject to Apple’s App Store dispute processes where relevant.
